ELECTION ANNOUNCEMENT FOR REGISTERED BENEFICIARIES OF TE KAPU O WAITAHA As notified at the Hui-A-Iwi held on the 21st November 2023, the Board seeks to fill 1 Trustee vacancy.  This vacancy is a full three year term commencing February 24th 2024. ROLL OPEN TO REGISTER FOR ELECTIONS To qualify for voting, you MUST be registered on the Trust Iwi Register on or before closing of the Roll at 4.00pm, 21 December 2023. Any registrations received after the roll has closed, will NOT be able to vote or stand in this election.  NOMINATIONS OPEN FOR ELECTIONS Nomination Application Forms can be downloaded here or emailed on request, alternately may be sent by NZ Post on request. Toi Moana Bay of Plenty Regional Council along with our Te Uepu partners Waitaha, Ngā Pōtiki, Ngāti Pūkenga and Ngāti He, warmly invite you to attend the pre-dawn blessing of the new Pāpāmoa Hills Cultural Heritage Regional Park entrance. Saturday, 25 November 20234.30am Assemble at the new carpark4.45am Karakia/karanga and speeches6.15am Proceedings concluded6.30am Pōhiri at Hei Marae7.45am Parakuihi Parking and transportPlease park at Hei Marae on Manoeka Road, Te Puke by 4am where a bus will transport you to the new carpark in time for the first karakia. Should you wish to leave the event immediately after the proceedings, you are welcome to park in the old carpark at the Regional Park. Please note traffic management will be in place and one lane may be closed.If you do choose to park onsite there will be a short walk between the old and new carparks. As it will be dark at this time of the day, we encourage you to take care and use your mobile phone light to guide the way. A small bus will also be available to transport anyone who requires it between the carparks.However, we strongly encourage you to park at Hei Marae to catch the bus to the park to ensure a smooth journey.WeatherUnless there is a red weather warning issued by Met Service, the event will go ahead rain or shine. TE KAPU O WAITHA TRUST ELECTIONS ANNOUNCEMENT

Election result: We thank the following four candidates who were nominated for Trustee consideration: –          Matewai Karaka-Clarke –          Mereana Te Pere –          Jill Carter and  –          Josh Te Kani As per the mandated Charter, an independent panel was appointed by the Board to assess all candidates against the nominee eligibility criteria.  We thank Heeni Potene, Maru Tapsell, Mere George and Tina Ngatai for accepting this appointment.   The panel has now concluded its process and hereby certify that nominees, Mereana Te Pere and Josh Te Kani, have successfully met the skills eligibility criteria.  Due to the number of certified nominees being equal to that of the trustee vacancies,  there will be no candidate meeting or election necessary; Mereana and Josh are duly appointed and will take up their roles after the AGM in November.  The Board was heartened to see such strong interest and acknowledges the need to harness such motivation and potential by supporting succession/leadership programmes in the future.   The Board also acknowledges that there may be questions about the new election process and so, will hold a hui on 25 October 2023 at 6.30pm, to discuss this. Once again, we thank our koeke, and panel for their efforts and celebrate alongside Jill and Matewai, the successful appointment of Josh and Mereana. PAPAKAINGA PROJECT MANAGER POSITION

The Trust seeks a Papakainga Project Manager who will be responsible for driving outcomes in support of Ahuwhenua Maori Land Trust(s) who seek to convert their whenua into residential Papakainga. This role is fixed term for a period of two years with a review for a further 12 months subject to completion of the project. We welcome applications from people who ideally can demonstrate proficiency in end to end project management, have knowledge of Maori Land court requirements in relation to whenua Maori, have a track record of working with whanau/hapu or iwi with the drive to achieving outcomes.  We also value the relationships of applicants relative to this project, such as Local and central government agencies, funders, and other social housing agents.   As we are a small team, applicants should be comfortable in self-management,  and enjoys the flexibility of innovation, and flexibility.
