CELEBRATING SUCCESS

\\\"K.Ahomiro I tānuku i ngā paretu o Otawa. Kia hora ake nei ki ngā tōpito o te ao hei tūrangawaewae mōku. Tēnā rā koutou, e te iwi o Waitaha. Kia ora whānau, my name is Kahleigh Santana Pine Ahomiro, a mokopuna of Paora Enoka and Gwendoline Ahomiro and eldest child of Tupaea and Lana Ahomiro. As the photo may suggest, on May the 5th 2017, after four and a half years of study I had the honour and privilege of walking across the ātea of Te Kohinga Marama Marae with my parents and aunty in tow to collect my degree. Now, when people ask how my studies are going I can finally reply that I have completed my Bachelor of Management Studies, majoring in Marketing and Agribusiness. When I walked into the Waikato University Campus, I literally had no idea what I was getting into, I didn’t even really know what Marketing was, let alone what a Marketer does. Now five years later I can confidently say that is no longer an issue. University was definitely a ride, with few lows and some major highs. I’ve met amazing people who are going to do great things in life that I get to call friends, and I’ve shared a thousand memories with. Been given some great opportunities to further my experiences, and been taught some valuable and interesting lessons in and out of the lecture theatre. However, now that I’ve finished and it’s time to put this paper to use, I’m focusing on beginning my career. At the moment I’m open to any opportunity that comes my way, whether it be in marketing, or agribusiness, or being a marketer in an agribusiness – anything is a possibility for me. My ultimate goal is to get myself into a position where I can return to my Iwi businesses such as Tuaropaki Trust, Te Arawa Fisheries and even Te Kapu o Waitaha Trust and help drive these businesses towards success so that they can continue helping people such as myself reach these life milestones. Finally, I’d like to thank my whānau, especially my parents for supporting my every choice and are half the reason I was able to gain my degree. Ngā mihi, Kahleigh Ahomiro.]]>
