TE ARAWA TAKUTAI KAUMAATUA FORUM & THE RENA

We continue to report on the progress of the current court case involving Waitaha interests through the Te Arawa Taku Tai Kaumaatua Forum as a collective to protect coastal interests. Papa Tame has been proactive in attending court to represent the tikanaga, values, and shared position that emphasizes the cultural impacts if the high risk such as oil remains. While some iwi have reached settlement and or withdrawn for other reasons, we continue in the preparation for establishing evidence in the upcoming hearing in October. Further to this Te Arawa Takutai will continue to challenge the appropriate appointment for cultural accountability and monitoring.]]>
