PUNA REO IS COMING TO HEI MARAE IN THE NEW YEAR

People have been consistently asking for help to learn te reo. Waitaha Puna Reo wananga will go better than that, and help whanau to “SPEAK” Maori. WHAT IS THIS ALL ABOUT? The aims of the wananga are; • Kia mohio ki te whakarongo ki te reo • Kia tika te whakahua i te reo • Kia taea te korero i te reo • Kia mohio ki nga tikanga o te marae The objectives • Whanau are speaking te reo at home • Whanau are speaking te reo at the marae What will I learn? • Conversational reo • Waiata tawhito • Kapa haka – waiata-a-ringa • Karakia • Marae tikanga Will there be tutors? • A number of fluent speaking Tutors will be there to support and encourage everyone no matter what level. • Do I have to pay anything to enroll? • Waitaha Puna Reo wananga are free, paid for by the Bay Of Plenty Polytechnic. This is subject to enrollment numbers. • How do I enroll? • As we need numbers for this to work, we are asking that each person bring 4 people with them to enroll.
