Grants Are Funded Until Expended Within The Current Financial Year Of 1st July 2025 – 30th June 2026 NOTE: You must be a registered iwi member to apply for the following:

Waitaha Cultural Grant:This grant is to support and strengthen Waitaha pae tapu or tribal leadership. These may include; -Te Reo -Whaikorero -Karanga -Waitaha tikanga/Matauranga -Waitaha history -Waitaha whakapapa -Karakia -Waiata moteatea -Kapa Haka
  • Applicants must be a member of the Waitaha-A-Hei pae tapu

OR

  • The programme has endorsement from the Waitaha pae tapu.
  • Must complete application online
  • Must complete an accountability form
  • Open: 1 October 2025
  • Close: 30 June 2026 or funding of $10,000 per year exhausted

Please note, an applicant may only apply for one cultural grant within the relevant financial year 1 July – 30 June.

Education Grant:A contribution towards primary, intermediate, secondary and alternative school and/or education expenses
  • Must complete the online application form
  • Must supply proof of enrolment from the school
  • Must supply quote and/or paid invoice/receipt
  • Must complete an accountability form
    Maximum of $300 per applicant and maximum of $600 for three children or more
  • Open: 1 October 2025
  • Close: 30 June 2026 or funding of $30,000 per year exhausted

Please note, you may only apply for one school grant within the relevant financial year 1 July – 30 June

Driver’s License:To support whanau with attaining their Driver’s license from learners to full class 1
  • Must be eligible to attain the license you are seeking support for
  • Must supply proof/receipt of booked test.
  • Must complete an accountability form
  • Open: 1 October 2025
  • Close: 30 June 2026 or funding of $10,000 per year exhausted.
Hakaraia Tertiary Education Grant:To support students to attain their trade apprenticeship certificate, diploma or degree (including post-graduate).
  • Must complete the online form
  • Must supply proof of enrolment
  • Must supply proof of any expenses for the current Trust financial year
  • Must provide verified bank details
    Maximum of $1,000 per applicant
  • Must complete an accountability form.
  • Open: 1 October 2025
  • Close: 24 January 2026 or funding of $30,000 per year exhausted
  • Must attend Hakaraia Wananga: February 2026.
Te Houhou Health Scholarship:To support students to attain their certificate, diploma or degree (including post-graduate) in the health sector.
  • You must be studying in the health sector
  • Must complete the online form
  • Must supply proof of enrolment
  • Must supply proof of any expenses for the current Trust financial year
  • Must provide verified bank details
  • Maximum of $2,000 per applicant
  • Must complete an accountability form
  • Open: 1 October 2025
  • Close: 30 June 2026 or funding of $10,000 per year exhausted
  • Must attend Hakaraia Wananga:  February 2026
Discretionary GrantApplications are considered at the discretion of the Grants Sub-Committee on a case by case basis for educational kaupapa (including a holiday programme) that may not meet the criteria of currently funded grants. These are usually "one off" grants.

  • Must supply kaupapa information in detail ie: plan, budget, etc
  • Must supply quote and/or paid invoice/receipt
  • Must complete an accountability form
  • Open: 1 October 2025
  • Close: 30 June 2026 or funding of $10,000 per year exhausted
Sports Grant:To support whanau in sports and hauora with Fees and/or equipment
  • Must complete the online form
  • Must supply kaupapa information in detail ie: plan, budget, etc
  • Must supply quote and/or paid invoice/receipt
  • Must complete an accountability form individually (not as a team)

  • Pakeke 19+ must be representative level.

  • Tamariki up to 18yrs old

  • Local $100max

  • Regional $300max

  • National/Reps/International up to $1000

  • Open: 1 October 2025
