Te Kiore - Site Visit

On Wednesday 2nd July 2025, Waitaha decendants gathered at the recently discovered historical pā site of Te Kiore.

As part of the ongoing archaeological works at Karaka Pine Village, significant discoveries were found, including areas of ancient garden soils and additional living pā sites, offering deeper insight into the footprints of our tūpuna upon this whenua. It was an opportunity for the different generations to gather, discover the unhidden value of the past and to reclaim and embrace who we are uniquely as Waitaha.
