Te Kapu O Waitaha is the mandated PSGE responsible for the management and growth of Waitaha–A-Hei assets. The Trust also has a number of sub-entities responsible for iwi services, and wealth management.
The Trust was first established in 2013, and will embark on furthering its strategic developments this year. Our key priority areas will be to ensure iwi aspirations remain at the forefront of annual and strategic plans, with adequate resource to support whanau/hapu/iwi to lead and achieve their aspirations and goals.
The Trust seeks to appoint two energetic people who are passionate about positive change and creating pathways through meaningful iwi initiatives and projects. This is a newly created fixed term position for up to two years. The position will add to the operational delivery in areas of social, cultural, health, education, and environmental sectors.
You will primarily oversee and co-ordinate the following;
- support and encourage leadership for the goals and initiatives identified by Waitaha whanau/iwi
- connect Waitaha whanau/iwi with the relative support and resources to achieve whanau/iwi projects and initiatives
- support the development of a realistic long-term plan, and support whanau/iwi leadership for its’ implementation
- connect whanau with the right support and assistance available to help work through and overcome any identified barriers
- assist with grant applications and proposals
- co-ordinate, establish, report on iwi projects
- monitor changes and help build on successes of iwi initiatives
To be considered for this role you will need to:
- have a working knowledge of Waitaha-A-Hei local community
- the ability to engage with diverse groups of people
