It is important that Waitaha is represented in forums where our iwi has a vested interest. Waitaha is represented in the following forums; SMART Growth, Tangata Whenua committee, Te Maru o Kaituna, Te Puke Township development, Iwi Leaders, Tauranga City Council & Developers, Nga Poutiriao ō Mauao to name a few. We recognize that Waitaha seriously needs to consider a succession plan to up skill future representatives for these positions in the future to assure a continuation of managing Waitaha input and views.
