BUDDING LEADERS

\"Whareaorere\" Shaye Whareaorere is Head Girl of Sports Leadership Role Year 13 for Te Puke High School. She provides us with an insight to her leadership role.. What is involved in my student leader role? As sports leaders, Hayden and I are head of sports committee.  We’ve had a number of meetings and decided our priority is to make run a weekly lunchtime sports league to get student involved with sports. Our biggest event to help organise this term so far has been the school Athletics Championship day. Also coming up we have swimming sports, cross country. What I propose to do in my student leader role? To have students come up to me with any questions, not just about sports but anything around the school. To get as many people involved in sports as possible and promote Te Puke High School as an awesome, positive school. What what legacy do I want to leave? That making good relationships with teachers and support staff is a good way to get the most out of school. ‘Aim High’ because there are lots of people at TPHS who believe in you.  Get involved in sport as this helps to keep you out engaged in school and out of trouble.   Congratulations Shae, wonderful korero.]]>
